- Eating complex carbohydrates increases metabolism (which decreases with age) and body composition (body tone).
- Eating lean protein improves muscle growth, metabolism, and fat burning, and improves body composition. Organs such as hair, skin, and nails benefit from these as they are made of protein.
- Eating fiber helps increase metabolism and fat burning and is thus often recommended by healthy lifestyle coaches. It reduces the attack of free radicals (helps skin health) and increases digestive health (better skin).
- Consumption of omega 3 supplements and foods help fat loss, and improves skin and hair health.
- Adequate sunshine
- Good hydration levels
- Good sleep
- Regular exercise
- Rest and recovery
- Regular health check-up
- Meeting a Gynecologist, endocrinologist, and a dermatologist periodically, if required

- Anti-stress management: Practice yoga and meditation to combat stress effects on body.
- Good skin hygiene: Take care of your skin by following a skincare routine, using sunblock when required, etc.
- Address acne breakouts: Usually acne is a result of unhealthy skin habits. These can be rectified by meeting with a dermatologist and adhering to the right skincare. Hormonal imbalances also lead to acne, which can be easily fixed through optimal nutrition (avoiding junk foods) and meeting a dermatologist, if required.
- Omega 3 supplementation
Foods to include:
A good and balanced diet plays a major role in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Being a lifestyle coach balanced diet is always my topmost priority.
- Whole wheat food items like whole-wheat Rotis, Dalia, wheat flakes and whole wheat bread, quinoa, oats, barley, sorghum (jowar), pearl millet (bajra), finger millet (ragi), brown rice, and muesli.
- Low-fat milk, milk products, and lean meats like chicken, fish, egg whites, etc
- Avocado, olive oil, salmon, tuna flaxseeds
- Green leafy veggies, broccoli, parsley, bell peppers, asparagus, cauliflower, pumpkin, carrots, peas, and mushrooms
- Vegetable juices
- Low GI fruits like apple and papaya
- Beans and chickpeas
- Almonds, walnuts, sesame seeds, flaxseeds
Foods to avoid:
- Margarine
- Refined flour
- Alcohol
- Tobacco (smoking)
- Sugar
- Fried foods
Summing it up:
As cliché as this may sound, marriages are made in heaven and there is a right time for them. Keeping in mind the above guidelines, ideal body weight can be maintained. When fitness levels are enhanced or strengthened, they work wonders for beauty. It’s that simple to feel and look good at any given point in time. It is all in your head. All that needs to be done is to make up or train your mind.
